Jennifer Keil, founder of 70 Degrees, conversed with Summer Cherland. Keil provided her insight for conducting oral histories with various institutions. She shared resources and techniques for best practices when facilitating interviews. She recommends introductory and advanced workshops at oral history centers such as CSUF’s Lawrence de Graaf Center for Oral and Public History. Additionally, one could join professional networks such as Oral History Association and Southwest Oral History Association (SOHA) which offer training at annual conferences. 

In this podcast, she shared the connections with Anthropology, Genealogy, and Oral History practices. Her goal is to make archives accessible online through content management systems. She believes in integrating oral histories in public spaces such as exhibitions. Keil has helped her clients explore their heritage. She is a Historian at the Moulton Museum and the Past President of SOHA.
