Titanic

Titanic in Southampton

The Catalina Museum ran this Titanic: Real Artifacts, Real People, Real Stories exhibit from October 2020 to February 2022. “The drama of the RMS Titanic’s maiden voyage haunts history with its dualities of ambition and failure, opulence and oppression, tragedy and hope. Through artifacts, images and personal belongings, Titanic shares the stories of the individuals from that fateful crossing and offers viewers an opportunity to touch the lives of those who set sail on the ‘unsinkable’ ship.”

We viewed the Titanic exhibit the final weekend prior to closing with the principal artifact collector, Tony and Ingrid Probst.

Fine Art Exhibit

The Gary Miltimore: Water and Color exhibit ran from October 2021 to March 2022.

“Highlighting his connection to the sailing/yachting community and his colorful, often irreverent, sense of humor Gary Miltimore: Water and Color, is the first-ever retrospective of the famed artist’s and sailor’s work. Featuring selections of his fine art maritime oils and watercolors, his commercial prints, and several half-model yacht graphics, the exhibition is a tribute to his life and to the adventurer’s spirit that can be experienced in each of his paintings.”

Today is the last day to bid on Making twenty-two pieces featured in Waves: Catalina Museum's Inaugural Art Auction.
Norman Rockwell in the 1940s: A View of the American Homefront opened on March 5, 2022.
