    LA Dreamhouse LA Dreamhouse Interior Camper Van LA Interstellar Airways “Barbieland” in Los Angeles refers to a real-life, immersive, fan-focused experience called World of Barbie. It was  located in Santa Monica in 2023. We loved the life-size Barbie Dreamhouse, Barbie camper van, a fashion studio, and the museum showcasing Barbie’s history. This journey started with a welcome film in an all-pink-themed theater.     We visited The Academy Museum located in Museum Row in Los Angeles. They are currently exhibiting the following: Stories of Cinema, The Path to Cinema: Highlights from the Richard Balzer Collection, Regeneration: Black Cinema, 1898–1971, and Backdrop: An Invisible Art. The exhibitions contain West by Northwest film backdrops. Learn about how set designers create movie magic.     When we think of entrepreneurship, we usually think of products to sell, direct services to provide, or some sort of liaison role. In a way, entrepreneurship incorporates each of these aspects, but is not limited to them. Sometimes entrepreneurship is more creative, educational, or foundational. Entrepreneurship is all about having market alertness, finding a need, and then fulfilling that need. University of California Irvine ANTrepreneur program director, Ryan Foland, suggests people wanting to become entrepreneurs should find a need and solve that need.   • Moulton Museum

    Join us this Sunday, October 2nd from 12-6pm for the Laguna Hills Heritage Day! We are celebrating the 30th anniversary of incorporation of the city. We have been collaborating with the Moulton Family since 2017. They owned Rancho Niguel in Orange County. It comprised nearly 22,000 acres. Moulton Ranch is now expanded into other parts of California where annual roundups and brandings. We partner with the California Rangeland Trust and are conducting an oral history series with multi-generational families throughout the state. We opened Moulton Museum in September 2022.   • Orange County Docent League – Spring 2022

    The Orange County Docent League will be hosted by Jennifer Keil, Director of Moulton Museum, at Aliso Viejo Ranch on April 11, 2022 for the spring event. The conference is titled, The Making of a Museum: Creation of a Docent Organization for the 21st Century. We will have Eddie Grijalva, President of Saddleback Area Historical Society, join us on Zoom. He recalls meeting Mr. Moulton while living on Moulton Ranch in the 1930s.   • Museum of Making Music

    We recently visited Carlsbad to see the newly renovated Museum of Making Music. It is located within the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) headquarters. As you enter the lobby, you will see on the right the Museum Store and entrance to the museum. Make sure to obtain a stylus from the docent for the touch displays throughout the museum. The Museum of Making Music describes their renovation as a place with “deeper stories, more hands-on interactivity, and a chance to connect to music making on a whole new level!” Our favorite gallery was the Sit & Play display where guests are encouraged to play instruments.     Permanent Exhibit Step back in time to Avalon’s historical founding period detailing the development by the Wrigley Family. The permanent exhibit display explains the development of this island. Hollywood legends used to live here and frequent it. Titanic Titanic in Southampton The Catalina Museum ran this Titanic: Real Artifacts, Real People, Real Stories exhibit from October 2020 to February 2022. “The drama of the RMS Titanic’s maiden voyage haunts history with its dualities of ambition and failure, opulence and oppression, tragedy and hope.
