David has been living in and finding inspiration from the Pacific Northwest for the last 30 years. A Palo Alto native, his passion for art has taken him from the bay area, to Southern California, around the world, and ultimately Washington State.
Landscapes of the western United States are often the subject of David’s paintings. However several tours throughout Europe, and in particular Italy, have inspired him to regularly paint scenes from European country and city life as well. His work is a combination of plein air and studio paintings. He loves to get outdoors and painting on location whenever he can.
Lisa Skelly
Lisa studied graphic design at Northern Illinois University, that started her lifelong career in art. Right out of college, Lisa decided to travel the world as a flight attendant, until her first child and husband grounded her and she started her first art business, Deux Brosses, a faux finishing and mural company. Lisa fell in love with fine art and especially Plein Air. She explored many different mediums and decided on pastels as her favorite. She studied with colorist, Camille Przewodek, to take her skills and abilities to higher levels. She has studied with some of the best Plein Air Artists in the country, including Ken Auster, Debra Huse, Kim Lordier, Clark Mitchell and many more. In 2017, Lisa relocated to Newport Beach, Ca, and resumed her longtime love affair with the ocean.

“Miura’s evocative tonalist landscapes explore the relationship between memory, emotions, and identity. “Although they’re still very much representational,” says Miura, “they’re not about specific locations. Well, actually they are, but the locations are found in my and the viewer’s memories. Not out there in the physical world.”

Jeff Sewell was born and raised in Southern California. Jeff is well known for his paintings of California scenery, although he spends many trips throughout the year traveling to paint the great Western scenery of Colorado, Utah and Arizona. He paints predominantly “en plein air” and also enjoys developing works in his studio. Jeff is LPAPA’s Director of Education and leads the Plein Air Project’s Younger Generation program.
