  • Granville Redmond: The Eloquent Palette

We are excited to share that the Laguna Art Museum has reopened. We had an opportunity to see this exhibit and encourage you to do the same. This exhibit is on display through November 15, 2020. It was organized by the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, CA. “Granville Redmond (1871–1935) produced a body of work that captures California’s diverse topography, vegetation, and color. Representing both northern and southern parts of the state, his paintings range in style from contemplative, “Tonalist” works that evoke a quiet calm, to dramatic and colorful Impressionist scenes. Today Redmond is widely considered one of the leading California artists of his era.” View the gallery in…

Plein air paintings are painted outdoors allowing the artist to capture the light and colors in a scene.” We really enjoyed viewing Mary Pickford’s Wedding in 1915 featured in another exhibit.
