Orange County Great Park
On May 25, 2021, the Irvine City Council unanimously approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City and the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum (FLAM) to establish a strategy for the restoration of Hangar 296 of the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, fundraising, and public outreach, all with the goal of the re-establishment of the Flying Leathernecks Aviation Museum. As this museum began at the former El Toro MCAS, there is strong interest in bringing the museum “back home” and continuing its educational mission in Orange County. Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County has a new permanent exhibit titled, “Becoming Los Angeles.” The displays contain large format photos, artifacts, and videos set in a larger than life timeline that swoops between several rooms. Each area includes tributes to pioneer voices and captures the everyday experience on this former sprawling vista. This L.A. tribute considers the land from its infancy to current state of being filled with medicine, aircrafts, and technology. Scottsdale Art
Scottsdale Public Art’s “LOVE” sculpture was completed by Edwin Benoit in 1999. It is a large, “144” (h) x144″ (w) x72″ (d) sculpture made of poly-chromed red and blue aluminum, weighing 3,800 lbs” which allows guests to stand and often place themselves within this space.
